Beer Pairing Guide
...By the Beer...
Michelob
This classic lager is brewed with only the finest, all-imported hops, offering a rich flavor and smooth finish. Michelob can be enjoyed with grilled meats, pasta, pizza, seafood and poultry.
Amberbock
This beer is brewed with dark-roasted malt, giving it a unique amber color and smooth, full-bodied taste. Enjoy it with grilled and BBQ'd foods and full-flavored cheeses.
American Lagers
American Lagers include beers such as Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Select, Michelob, Michelob Light, Michelob Ultra, Ultra Amber, etc. Generally, these beers will pair well with most American palates. In other words, American Lager goes great with American food - BBQ, steak, chicken, pizza, seafood, hamburgers, brats, and even salads. Light foods, like a ceasar salad will go well with a Michelob Ultra, a Bud Light or a Michelob Light. Same goes for seafood or chicken. Heavier foods, like a steak or bbq, while still pairing well with a lighter beer, will do very well with a little heavier lager, like a Budweiser or a Michelob.

Porter
For things like steak, most American Lagers work well, like a Budweiser, but for those that prefer a heavier beer, ESB works very well with steak.
Fish

Widmer Hefeweizen
Blonde
Lighter beers will work better with fish, so again, American Lagers, especially a Bud Light will work well. Widmer Hefeweizen is an "American" wheat beer and goes especially well with seafood because most people will enhance the flavor of a Widmer with a lemon wedge, to really bring out the citrus flavor. Eagle Rock does pretty well with Widmer on draught at high-end seafood restaurants, like McCormick and Schmick's.

Some darker beers, like a Porter, Winterhook or NutBrown
Chicken can be versatile and fried chicken will pair well with American Lager beers.

IPA's will do very well with spicy foods. Cajun/Creole, Indian, or Thai are great food pairings for an IPA, particularly Redhook IPA because of the hops. Mexican foods can go well with the IPA or Widmer Hef.
